Please
encourage your students to attend the College Fair to meet representatives from
various CSU’s, UC’s and private colleges. Consider giving your students
an assignment related to the college fair or, if appropriate, extra credit for
attending. Representatives from the California State University campuses,
University of California campuses and private colleges/universities will be
available to answer questions and assist our students in the application
process. CSU representatives will be able to share additional information
on the new AA-Transfer and AS Transfer degrees that will be required by many
CSU’s.

college apparel and help support Transfer Awareness Week!
“FEED COMPTON”
November
22, 2012, Various Locations
The Compton Community College District is
working local churches and other organizations to provide meals to members of
our local community. Rueben James is coordinating the District’s
involvement with this program. Additional information will be provided in
the near future.
ECC Datatel Shutdown
Necessary work on the ECC Datatel system will be
taking place November 26-30. During this period students will not be able
to access MyECC so they will not be able to retrieve their student
transcripts. The UC and CSU deadlines for admission application is
November 30th so students applying for fall 2013 admission need to
print a copy of their transcripts NOW! Please mention this in your
classes. Additional information and details regarding the shutdown
and how it may affect campus operations will be provided by the Administration
in the near future.
Accreditation Summit and Campus Accreditation Forum
Last week 40 students, faculty, staff and
administrators attended an Accreditation Summit to review the accreditation
process and learn how we will be preparing for the ECC accreditation
self-study. Francisco Arce led a stimulating discussion on the eligibility
requirements, the accreditation standards and related areas. On November
29th at 1:00 p.m. there will be a Campus Accreditation Forum
where additional information will be shared about the Center’s readiness to
begin the accreditation application process. Please mark your calendars
and plan to attend this important meeting.
