President’s Report
In the last PBC meeting (November 25,2014), it was mentioned that after settling the cosmetology dispute, the district has a surplus of around $370,000.00. The district plans on putting all the money in the OPEB trust; this is in addition to of $250,000.00 already budgeted for this year. The union’s position is that this extra money should be used for other purposes (benefits, etc) instead of putting the money into the OPEB trust.
In the last Consultative Council Meeting (December 1,2014), I was informed (by the CEO or CBO) that:
• Wanda Morris will become the Interim Dean of Nursing (Effective spring 2015) for both, the Torrance campus and the Compton Center.
• The eligibility application (for accreditation) has been delayed for one month.
• Most recent sick time hours balance will come with the overload pay warrants.
