2 year window for CCSF?

The Wall Street Journal reports that City College of San Francisco will get 2 years to get back into compliance.  The article states:

SAN FRANCISCO—A proposal by an accrediting agency would give one of the country's biggest community colleges a two-year extension to correct deficiencies and keep its doors open, while possibly providing a solution for other troubled schools.
The plan announced last week by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges would let the 75,000-student City College of San Francisco maintain its accredited status while it works on fixing financial and other problems.
The private agency last year said it would revoke City College's accreditation effective at the end of this July after it said the school, among other things, failed to reduce spending amid state funding declines.
On Friday, an independent panel considering an appeal from the school backed the commission's initial decision to remove accreditation but said the college had made enough progress since then "to justify a reconsideration of the termination action."
The commission, one of six regional accrediting agencies in the U.S., said it expects to adopt the change after a public comment period ending June 25.
House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, who represents San Francisco, called the proposed rule "good news for our students and our city." Academic experts in California and elsewhere also praised the plan as a way to help City College avert possible closure.
Accreditation is necessary for vital functions such as government aid and transfer of college credits.
But experts said they were unsure of the proposal's broader impact.
Given the size of CCSF, some sort of positive action is not unexpected.
