City College of San Francisco may have a chance.

As of today, there are more that 2 lawsuits against the ACCJC, which may allow for time to meet the demands.  There has been outreach to the Legislature as well.  One reason they may survive is directly related to Compton.

Our former CBO, Mr. Ronald Gerhard, is now going to work for CCSF as of October 21, 2013.  Ronald was key in our move towards stability, and he apparently has also stabilized Peralta.  This was posted by the Special Trustee of CCSF.

It goes as follows:

Date: September 24, 2013
To: The College Community
From: Robert F. Agrella, Special Trustee

In accordance with my prior email regarding an expedited hiring process I am pleased to announce that Mr. Ronald Gerhard will be joining the City College of San Francisco family effective October 21, 2013 as the Vice Chancellor of Finance and Administration. Previously, Ron was with the Peralta Community College District for over 3 years as the Vice Chancellor for Finance & Administration. As the Vice Chancellor, Ron has been responsible for the management and oversight of the institution’s total budget of more than $300 million, led the effort to create and implement a new resource allocation model, responded to ACCJC requests for information and recommendations regarding financial matters, developed and implemented financial policies and procedures, and implemented funding strategies to manage and fund the District’s $184 million other post-employment benefit obligations (OPEB). Prior to working at Peralta, Mr. Gerhard served as the Chief Business Officer for Compton Community College District and as the Business Manager for San Bernardino Community College District. He has spent over 13 years in the education field. Prior to entering education, Mr. Gerhard spent 3 years in public accounting. Mr. Gerhard received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from the University of Redlands and his Master of Business Administration degree in Finance and Accounting from the University of California, Riverside.
Please join me in welcoming Ron to CCSF.
