Proposition 30 in danger of not passing. LA Times/USC Poll

Recent polls by the USC Dornsife/Times Poll indicate that support for Proposition 30 is dropping sharply.  In the article, they note that usually tax related initiatives rarely gain ground during the waning days of an election.  The impact to our institution is going to be tangible in terms of courses cut, and other potential budget related complications.  If it doesn't pass, the overall impact to all of higher education in Calif could be dramatic in terms of access to the CSU and UC system.  Many have already received acceptance notices, but if Proposition 30 doesn't pass, their status could change.  It also means that there will additional pressure on the Community Colleges.  We will get those students, but we will not have a class to offer them.  Also within the article, it also notes that Proposition 38 is also not doing well either.  There is a possibility that both Proposition 30 and 38 will not pass, and California is going to have more severe cuts in education.  There have been cuts in salaries, furloughs and layoffs in other colleges already.  Essentially, California Public Education could be in survivor mode for a long time.  Pray that it passes.  But it isn't looking good right now.
